Lauren P. is a native of Long Island NY, and grew up in the Hampton Bays school district. From a very early age, Lauren has had the gift of music. From piano, to saxophone, to oboe, Lauren has played it all. Her gift comes not only from her remarkable talent, but from her willingness and determination to learn as much about music as she possibly can. Lauren started her music studies in the third grade and has never stopped. She has continued her music studies all the way through college, where she graduated Cum Laude from Five Towns College. Lauren received her Bachelor’s degree in music education and now has her NYS teaching certification in music (K-12).
Currently, Lauren is a substitute teacher in numerous school districts around Long Island and is actively looking for a permanent music position. As well as an educator, Lauren is also a very talented musician. One aspect of Lauren that makes her stand out from others is her versatility. Lauren has a very strong background in double reeds, woodwinds, and piano. Due to her abilities on numerous instruments, Lauren has played in many pit orchestras for Off-Broadway productions, such as Fiddler on the Roof, Maime, the Producers, Beauty and the Beast, Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, and Crazy for You. Along with the experience of playing in pit orchestras, Lauren has also performed with The Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Louis Panacciulli.
Lauren’s passion for music is very obvious. Whether it’s teaching or performing, Lauren puts her heart and soul into it. Her students see it, along with her peers, which makes her an in demand teacher/performer. Lauren is always concerned with the progress of her students and constantly takes the time to make sure they understand the material before they move on. Lauren can bring success to any student who is interested in gaining skills on piano, double reeds, or woodwinds.
