Chelsea W. , 22, has been a private teacher of violin, viola, and cello for six years and has worked with beginner through advanced students ages Kindergarten through adult including special learners. She is a New York State certified teacher who graduated Summa Cum Laude from C.W. Post in May 2011 with a B.M. in Music Education. She studied modern violin and Baroque violin with Dr. Dale Stuckenbruck and cello with Prof. Maureen Hynes. At C.W. Post, she often performed with the C.W. Post Orchestra and String Ensemble as co-concertmaster and soloist. She was an All-State violinist in high school, has performed with the North Shore Symphony Orchestra, and was featured as a soloist at a Kammermusik concert. Passionate about the importance of string playing in music education, she also became the co-founder and president of C.W. Post’s American String Teachers Association Chapter.
Chelsea is currently a substitute teacher in the Oceanside and Port Washington School Districts where she implements both music and non-music instruction. She is looking to pursue a master’s degree in either Special Education/Childhood Education or Music therapy. She loves teaching private lessons and is happy to be a part of the Kathryn Brickell Music team.
