Amy Y. is currently earning her Bachelors of Arts in Music Education at New York University where she is studying oboe with Matt Sullivan. She previously attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she studied under Dr. Stephen Caplan. Ms. Y. is the oboist for the New York City-based woodwind quintet, Washington Square Winds. Her most recent performances include playing with the Broadway Bach Ensemble, the New Amsterdam Summer Orchestra, and William D. Caballero’s orchestra in his production of SPEAK! So the World Will Listen: Uganda. In addition to the oboe, Amy plays the ‘ukulele and is a former instructor for the Roy Sakuma ‘Ukulele Studio in O’ahu, Hawai’i. She has played and recorded with the New York City-based band, Random Avenue. Her current focus is finishing her degree and spreading her love of music through education.
