Piano Performance Tips

It’s only natural to get a bit nervous before performing at a piano recital or concert. Here are a few tips you can use to make sure you’re doing the best you can and making the recital a great experience for the audience, your fellow performers, and yourself.

-Don’t wear a strong perfume or fragrance these aromas can linger near the bench, causing a distraction or even an allergic reaction for the next player.

-Do make sure you arrive on time it demonstrates respect for your audience and the other musicians.

-Do wash your hands any grime or grease is likely to stay on the keys and make playing more difficult for you and for anyone who follows you. If the keyboard is sweaty, be sure to inform a teacher or stagehand so they can clean it up.

-Don’t let shyness or fear get the best of you remember, your audience is there because they want to hear you play, and if you keep this in mind, you’re sure to do a great job.
