Kathryn Brickell Music prides itself on our music lessons for adults programs. We often hear “it’s too late”, but that could not be farther from the truth. We had an 89 year old adult student who progressed quite well on the flute and we had a 59 year old student for violin who practiced 20 minutes a day for a year and also saw great results. In our music lessons for adults program, we currently have many adult guitar and piano students in a broad age range from 22-76 years old. We also had an adult cello student who did very nicely. So if you are an adult considering taking music lessons, all you need is the commitment and the daily (5 days a week) practice to succeed.
In many ways, studying music as an adult is more gratifying than studying as a child. Adults appreciate the depth and beauty of the music on a more mature emotional level. Adults also comprehend the vastness of the world of music which allows them greater enjoyment. Just knowing that you are playing a piece composed by the great composers such as J.S. Bach, Beethoven and Mozart, just to mention a few, is very gratifying. And then there are the wonderful and exciting Broadway show tunes past and present, all the great jazz standards and of course popular music through the decades that you’ve known and loved listening to on the radio as well as movie themes by everyone from Mancini to Howard Shore.
So if you are considering music lessons for adults, take the first step and contact us by submitting the “request information” form on our website or by calling us by phone and we will conduct a phone interview to find out which teacher best suits your needs and requests.
